Expressions of Interest are open for a Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Advanced Trainees to join the Advanced Trainee Committee.
Description
One of the main roles of the ATC in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine is to monitor and assess individual trainee progress in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine in Australia.
There is currently 1 vacant Paediatric Advanced Trainee Representative position on the ATC. This is a great opportunity for Paediatric Trainees who are willing to represent current Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Advanced Trainees and the training program. In this role, you will help shape the physicians of the future and positively contribute to the direction, workforce and culture of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine in Australia.
You'll be involved in reviewing and monitoring of the training program requirements, assessment and curricula in consultation with the relevant Speciaalty Society(ies) and other stakeholders and recommend changes to the College Education Committee.
Other key responsibilities include:
- oversee and review the training program from a trainee perspective
- attend committee meetings on behalf of the Advanced Trainees
- assess and provide advice on recognition of prior learning
- modify individual training requirements, as appropriate, in accordance with College policies and procedures
- assess and provide advice on specialist recognition in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine for Fellows in the Paediatric and Child Health Division who have not completed the Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Advanced Training program
The Committee holds 1 face-to-face meeting (usually in November) and a further video conference a year.
Members are appointed to the ATC for a 3-year term and can be renewed for a further term.
