Swan Hill Aerodrome Patient Transfer Facility

⁠⁠⁠Swan Hill Rural City Council (Council) invites suitably qualified suppliers to submit a Tender for the construction of a new Swan Hill Aerodrome Patient Transfer Facility.

The objective of this project is to provide a new Facility located at the Swan Hill Aerodrome that provides:

- a secure undercover ambulance patient drop-off area;

- a climate-controlled indoor environment for the clinical handover of patients between aero ambulance and road ambulance crews; and

- an accessible private rest area for patients and crews

Background information / Compatibility requirements

The Swan Hill aerodBackground information / Compatibility requirementsrome, originally constructed in 1965, is currently one of the key aircraft transportation hubs in Mallee region. It accommodates air traffic all year round and is playing an important role for the emergency services and public / business use.

Patients in the Swan Hill region are transferred between air ambulance and road ambulance service crews on the tarmac at any time of the day or night and through all weather and light conditions.

Council has obtained funding to construct a new Patient Transfer Facility building at the Swan Hill Aerodrome to significantly enhance the patient transfer process.
