Scope of Services
The successful consultant will be required to undertake and manage the process of delivering appropriate documentation suitable for the invitation for tenders for road and drainage upgrade works. Deliverables include, but are not limited to:
• Engineering survey
• Service location and depthing to ensure all conflicts are designed out and appropriate cover is adopted between existing services and new infrastructure.
• Pavement and geotechnical investigations
• Site drainage investigations and catchment assessment
• Hydrological and hydraulic modelling
• Concept plan for best value upgrade works to achieve the project objectives.
1. Preliminary costings
2. Road Safety Audit to understand proposed vehicle movements along Murphy St, Dawson St, Goold St, Drevermann St as well as difference in pavement height between Murphy St and Riverine St.
Specific Hold Point to confirm feasibility of design criteria.
• Detailed design of road and drainage upgrade works to achieve the project objectives.
Detailed estimated cost for construction.
Safety in Design process and Road Safety Audit on the detailed design. Road Safety Audit in detailed design to cover proposed interaction between vehicles on Murphy St, Dawson St, Goold St, Drevermann St as well as any changes to the Murphy St and Riverine St intersection.
• Tender issue plans, bill of quantities, site specification for the tendering process
• Issue for Construction plans following tender process
The appointed consultant shall be responsible for all the technical and engineering design aspects of the work ensuring compliance with all relevant Australian Standards, local and State codes and all statutory requirements for the works. Council approval will only be to ensure the extent and content is according to Council requirements.
The appointed consultant shall be responsible for engaging and coordinating other parties to complete designs, investigations, assessments, studies, certifications, or any other activities required to complete the final design package.
Designs shall incorporate all safety standards including where necessary procedures during construction to ensure maximum safety to all persons and property is maintained.
The appointed consultant shall be responsible for producing a full set of construction drawings, electronically in PDF & CAD, which include layout plans and other such plans necessary to fully detail the construction works proposed in the Detail Design. Approval of the construction documentation by the Council’s Project Manager shall signify that a Final Construction Plan has been achieved. A final package of drawings and specifications shall then be issued marked ‘Issue for Construction’.
The requirements of AS4122 General Conditions of Contract for Consultants applies to this documentation.
