Tender Description
Council invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to construct a portion of the Rutherglen Loops trail along Distillery Road Rutherglen.
The trail is 1535m long between Cofield and Pfieffer’s Wineries on the western side of the road reserve. There are two types of trail construction:
a) 125 metres of on-shoulder 2.5m spray sealed shared path with traffic lane separators, guideposts and line marking (on-shoulder to avoid impacts on native vegetation)
b) 1410 metres of off-road 2m spray sealed shared path on 2.5m constructed pavement predominately running along the boundary fence line and including a crossing of O’Donoghues Road.
As well as trail construction the works include drainage, culverts, regulatory/warning signage and additional pavement at local driveway entries. Works in this corridor will require close management for: onsite safety of road users, pedestrians, contractors and subcontractors; native vegetation protection and removal; and working near power, Telstra and NBN.
