Southern Rural Water requires a technical hydrological review and risk assessment to be undertaken on Maribyrnong and Moorabool catchments.

The following elements are expected to be delivered as part of the project including, but not limited to:

- Review of previous and current relevant technical hydrological and community engagement work undertaken in the subject catchments.

- Undertake spatial analysis and technical assessment to quantify the volume of unlicensed water taken within the subject catchments from sources including small catchment dams, losses from farm dams, stream offtakes and groundwater bores.

- Undertake and report upon technical site investigations of the types of use and levels of use from each type of unlicensed source to establish how water is being extracted and used.

- Undertake hydrologic modelling and analysis to determine the impact of unlicensed take (including potential unauthorized take) on the water resources and the risk to key water dependent values in the study area.
