Tender Description
Mount Alexander Shire Council is intending to carryout repairs to the Froomes Road bridge located adjacent to the Castlemaine Gardens on Froomes Road.
Froomes Road bridge was originally constructed in 1873 as an iron, masonry and timber composite type structure. Major reconstruction works were undertaken in early 1970’s with a new deck, beams, concrete centre pier and concrete piles.
The bridge is an integral part of the street network that forms a circuit around the Botanical Gardens and the hospital precinct, and provides access between Richards Road and the Midland Highway via Downes Road.
Council is seeking Tenders from appropriately qualified and experienced contractors to carry out the repair and rehabilitation of the bridge.
