Overview
The Northern Territory Government is seeking applications for funding which is available to support a range of after-hours and school holiday activities to engage and support young people, in particular, those young people at risk and experiencing vulnerability, in the Northern Suburbs of Darwin.
Grants of up to $50,000 are available for eligible applicants to fund accessible and free group activities that bring young people together, make connections to existing support services, and are youth informed.
The Darwin Youth Activities funding is available through the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (TFHC) Regional Youth Services Program, which encompasses delivery and access to both after-hours core youth services and programs including school holiday activities. It supports collaborative partnerships; ensuring young people have access to a diverse range of engaging and supportive activities.
This funding aligns with the TFHC vision: Connected Communities, Thriving Places, and Empowered Territorians, along with the outcomes for the Regional Youth Services Program1.
The Darwin Youth Activities Grants will favorably support applications encompassing goals and priorities outlined in the Darwin Youth Action Plan2 and NT Youth Strategy 2023-20333.
These grant funding guidelines apply to applications for activities or programs to be run during the timeframe of 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2024. This applies to activities run during school holiday periods and/or after hours during the school term.
