From 31 July 2023, the Electoral Commission will deliver a nationwide community engagement campaign to raise awareness of election participation (motivation, enrolment and voting), and support participation in the 2023 General Election (GE2023).
The Electoral Commission will contract Māori organisation/s with national reach to deliver community engagement activities for GE2023 delivered by the Commission's community engagement teams. The organisation/s will promote the campaign messages to all eligible Māori voters, including youth and disability communities.
The overarching purpose of the community engagement campaign is:
- working with Tangata Whenua and priority communities to strengthen civic participation and increase voter turnout for GE2023 - reflecting a healthy democracy and confidence in the electoral system.
This procurement supports the Commission's strategic priority "Strengthening our relationships and building public understanding of our democracy'.
