Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Overview

The Department intends to review Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for air conditioners.

Purpose

The review is intended to identify how best to calculate MEPS, what MEPS are appropriate, whether determinations can be consolidated, and any other considerations to update air conditioner determinations and NZ Energy Efficient Regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

  • Consultation with key stakeholders about options
  • Cost benefit analyses of options for both Australia and New Zealand
  • Preparation of reports to support preparing a consultation regulation impact statement
