Overview
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking proposals from suitably qualified Pacific providers to deliver a nationally consistent, locally responsive Pacific Kaiāwhina Navigation Service that improves equitable access to health, disability, social and community services for Pacific peoples across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Purpose
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking providers who can demonstrate a strong commitment to improving equitable health outcomes for Pacific peoples through culturally grounded, community-led, and relationship-based service delivery. The organisation values providers that have trusted relationships within Pacific communities, employ and support a sustainable Pacific Kaiāwhina workforce, and deliver services that are responsive to the diverse needs of Pacific families and communities.
Scope
The scope includes:
- Employing and supporting a culturally competent Pacific Kaiāwhina workforce
- Delivering community-based, non-clinical navigation services for Pacific peoples
- Providing advocacy and health literacy support
- Coordinating care for Pacific peoples accessing health, disability, social and community services
- Providing referral support, follow-up and community engagement activities
- Delivering services in accordance with the scope of practice, workforce standards and reporting requirements

- Clinical escalation pathways
- Ability to achieve improved access, engagement, continuity of care and health outcomes for Pacific communities
