The Aotearoa New Zealand (AoNZ) Policy and Advocacy Committee (PAC) seeks expressions of interest from Aotearoa NZ members.
Kaupapa o te Komiti | Purpose of the Committee
The AoNZ PAC aims to support the strategic policy and advocacy priorities set by the AoNZ Committee.
The PAC is to be up to 10 members and there's currently capacity for additional members this year:
Members across the wider NZ membership of the RACP, representing the Divisions, Faculties and Chapters, gender, age, ethnicity, membership stages and AoNZ Geographic.
AoNZ PAC acknowledges Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and the foundational principles of bicultural partnership, participation, and protection it guarantees. We therefore commit that all our policies will consider the impact on the wellbeing and mana of Māori as tangata whenua and ensure that these policies uphold the above principles
Takohanga | Responsibilities
The Committee have four hui-ā-ataata | Zoom meetings and one kanohi ki te kanohi | face-to-face in Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington. Travel costs are covered in accordance with the RACP Travel Policy (PDF).
Most of the mahi will occur during scheduled hui. There is likely to be up to 2 hours of pre-reading required before kanohi ki te kanohi hui, and 1 hour prior to hui-ā-ataata | zoom. Members will also be contacted via email regarding policy and advocacy issues, in particular, seeking feedback on consultations of health policy issues.
