Tender Description
The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) service model and workforce has developed this strong market position overtime. VTAC has provided services for 56 years, delivering high quality services, and therefore becoming known for its:
- Reliability,
- Dependability,
- Accuracy, and
- Consistency.
To continue to deliver services to this high standard, a technology refresh is required to deliver the VTAC Strategy (refer to Attachment 5). Through this tender, VTAC aims to further strengthen its reputation and deliver an enhanced, future-proven service to its stakeholders.
The VTAC require a single platform solution to deliver its current suite of services utilising a contemporary, lower risk technology environment and to support the implementation of additional services in the future.
It is important that the future state technical solution includes flexible functionality to enable the establishment of new services in the medium and short term as the nature of tertiary admissions continues to change.
The purpose of this market engagement is for VTAC to deliver an end-to-end solution that:
- Enhances the student experience by making the process of applying for university easier through the traditional VTAC offer rounds and future service admissions service offerings (e.g. early entry admissions)
- Reduces student inequity by providing access to assessment based on more than just ATAR to provide greater access to opportunities for a range of students.
- Supports school careers professionals by providing a single hub for everything a school and student needs to know about and undertake when applying for all types of offers for tertiary study.
- Increases student quality and diversity for tertiary institutions by enabling the delivery of a more comprehensive assessment process and increasing exposure of early entry programs to a range of students.
- Enhances VTAC's ability to track and report the progression of student engagement and outcomes and making this information available to universities.
Overall, the solution reduces risk for the sector, such as improving student experience and increasing admissions transparency. Additionally, the solution will provide the basis for the broader technology transformation required to further enhance the student experience whilst stabilising the VTAC technology environment.
