Royal Park Campus AC1 and AC2 refurbishment - Building Works

⁠⁠⁠Project Background

The project is located at: The Royal Melbourne hospital; Royal Park Campus 34-54 Poplar Road, Parkville. Victoria Building 17

The Royal Park Campus AC1 & AC2 refurbishment project will update and modernise the current Aged Care Wards and provide comfortable accommodation to patients. the purpose of the project is to

• Increase Melbourne Health total bed capacity
• Ensure Aged care patients are cared for in a facility that affords privacy and segregation
• The altered ward configuration reduces the likelihood of cross contamination/spread of communicable disease for patients and staff
• Improve access to beds at City Campus for emergency and elective surgery patients

Builder’s Scope of works:

AC1

• Remove 4 existing doors, new 2100 mm high wall with skirting between 5 bays
• Supply & Install 4 new double glass doors to corridor side
• Repair damaged walls and doors
• Install new S.S. 1m high kick plate to doors
• Install new Acrovyn corner guard
• Building works related to mechanical changes ceiling works access panels, bulkheads, wall penetrations
• Supply and install loose lay vinyl with one continuous piece 150mm up the wall
• Supply and install whiterock wall protection vinyl to bedhead
• Replace all hand basins existing wall vinyl
• Replace all existing wall and floor vinyl

AC2

• Remove existing doors, new 2100 mm high wall with skirting between 5 bays
• Install 5 new double glass doors to corridor side
• Repair damaged walls and doors
• Install new S.S. 1m high kick plate to doors
• Replace damaged plasterboard ceiling in staff room
• Building works related to mechanical changes ceiling works access panels, bulkheads, wall penetrations
• Supply and install whiterock wall protection vinyl to new walls

In accordance with the RMH Construction Procurement Framework (and the Ministerial Directions) it is proposed to procure the Works through a Selective Tender process. The tender will be release the beginning of March. With Works to commence from the 17th April to 31st July 2023.
