Tender Description
This grant opportunity will provide $220,000 and $520,000 (GST exclusive) to Redfern Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS) and Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation AMS (TAC AMS), respectively.
The purpose of the grant is to provide funding for the upgrade and/or purchase of new medical equipment to support the renal and cardiac care of First Nations people attending Redfern and TAC AMSs.
This grant aligns with the Australian Government’s commitment to the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, specifically Outcome One: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people enjoy long and healthy lives.
The objective of the grant is to:
- increase access to high quality, timely and appropriate renal and cardiac care in a primary health care setting; and
- improve the health and wellbeing of First Nations people accessing services at Redfern and TAC AMSs.
The intended outcomes are to:
- improve quality of care for First Nations people with chronic diseases attending Redfern AMS and TAC AMS; and
- address barriers for First Nations people to access culturally safe health services in managing their chronic disease.
