Tender Description
The City of Fremantle is a local government authority located 20km south of the Perth CBD comprising the suburbs of Beaconsfield, Fremantle, Hilton, North Fremantle, O'Connor, Samson, South Fremantle and White Gum Valley.
The Town of Fremantle Council was founded in 1871 and it wasn't until 1929 that it gained city status.
Today, the City employs more than 400 people and services approximately 30,000 residents over a land area of 19 square kilometres.
We pride ourselves on responsible social, economic and environmental management and in 2009, Fremantle became WA's first carbon neutral city.
In September 2014, Fremantle became one of only two councils in Australia to achieve national One Planet certification for sustainability.
The City also has a strong focus on arts and culture and owns and runs the iconic Fremantle Arts Centre and world-renowned festivals including Australia's oldest festival, the Fremantle Festival.
About this Tender:
The City of Fremantle is seeking to engage an experienced Contractor to complete dune creation works at Port Beach.
The major components of the works include:
Construction of New Dunes using sand present on site.
Stabilisation of the New Dunes including Hydromulch with seed and installation of coir matting, sand trap fencing and dune fencing.
Design, supply and implementation of a vegetation plan for the constructed dunes.
Ideally, the works should commence during June 2023 to take advantage of winter rainfall to optimise the success of vegetation planting and seeding.
