Tender Description
Healesville Sanctuary's Master Plan 2019_2024 (Zoos Victoria) commits to re-establishing the platypus as a major focus, ensuring the Sanctuary is the world-renowned centre for the species. (Master Plan Actions 22_26).
A major component of the Healesville Sanctuary platypus program is to provide platypus rescue facilities for injured or displaced wild platypus.
The existing area used as the Platypus Rehabilitation Facility was built as part of the World of the Platypus construction in 1994. The platypus holding tanks, the facility and the associated infrastructure has been in constant use during that time and is now considered no longer fit for purpose.
Project Scope
1. The project scope allows for the engagement of a suitable contractor that is capable of designing and constructing for the provisions of Platypus Rescue Ponds and Aquatics System at Healesville Sanctuary.
