Tender Description
The Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ) was formally declared by Government on 5 November 2021. The declaration is the first step in formalising the REZ under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020. It sets out the intended network capacity (size), geographical area (location) and infrastructure that will make up the REZ. Under the CWO REZ declaration, EnergyCo NSW is the Infrastructure Planner for the CWO REZ. EnergyCo NSW will assess and make decisions on recommending the REZ network infrastructure.
EnergyCo is currently running a Request for Proposal to appoint a Network Operator to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana REZ.. The proponents include: ACE Energy, NewGen Networks and Network REZolution. EnergyCo intends to engage a suitably qualified and experienced professional services contractor (the Service Provider) to provide Transmission Network Service Provider (TNSP) and transmission network operation advisory services to support the project team throughout the RFP and contractual close periods of the project. The Service Provider will deliver advice on issues surrounding the role of TNSP, Transmission Operations and Infrastructure Design to inform the transaction of the CWO REZ Network Operator. EnergyCo requires a highly qualified service provider with knowledge of TNSPs, Operations, Commissioning and Batching to provide input into the evaluation process and support the Project to achieving contractual and finance close, including ongoing stakeholder management with key stakeholders including EnergyCo.
