Tender Description
In 2021 GMR completed a level 3 inspection of Sawpit Gully Road Bridge (B8). The associated report for this inspection listed numerous recommended maintenance works for the immediate, 1 year and 5 year time frames.
These included but not limited to:
- Abutment protection, reinstate undermined abutments with engineered fill material to a minimum of 150Kpa compaction.
- Debris, flood material build up removal.
- Road/deck preparation and resealing works.
- Abutment, concrete crack repair i.e. a high strength epoxy resin injection into the exposed crack.
- Steel members rust repair or whole steel member replacement.
The existing Sawpit Gully Road Bridge was described as an 'ad hoc' structure but with works still had a 20-year remaining service life.
The project's goal is to extend the service life of Sawpit Gully Road Bridge and improve safety surrounding the bridge for all users within the vicinity.
