Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Nursery Equipment Program (NEP) is a state-wide service that promotes access to safe equipment and products for eligible families. The program aims to improve infant safety through the delivery, installation and, or assembly of safe cots and car seats for families experiencing financial insecurity. Products are ordered by Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nurses who identify eligible families. These are then delivered to the cot assembler or qualified car seat fitter for assembly and installation, respectively. MCH nurses are notified once the service has been completed. MCH services are managed by 79 Local Governments with approximately 1500 MCH nurses across Victoria. In addition, 15 Aboriginal MCH services operate across Victoria.

Background

The Department of Health will be seeking a suitably qualified and experienced NEP service provider to provide timely end to end service delivery for nursery equipment supported by a secure, confidential electronic portal that delivers high-quality customer service to eligible families.

The broad scope of the procurement with key service deliverables are as follows:

Web-based ordering portal

  • develop and implement a user-friendly ordering portal that complies with cyber-security and privacy requirements and hosted on appropriate site/s for use by MCH Nurses
  • capacity for MCH nurses to track orders and receive notification of installation/assembly
  • reporting capability for use by MCH services and the Department of Health

Supply chain

  • purchase nursery cots and mattresses, and car seats that comply with safety standards
  • deliver and distribute products across Victoria to drive equity across metropolitan and regional and rural areas of Victoria
  • manage stakeholder engagement, notifications and communication
  • meet departmental operational and reporting requirements.
