Tender Description
To assist Council in fulfilling its land and biodiversity commitments, Council is inviting tenders from suitably qualified contractors to be included in the Conservation and Land Management Services (C&LMS) panel of contractors to carry out field-based works and services. The panel will also support the management and enhancement of parks and open spaces for other work units within the Department that require conservation and land management expertise.
The overall aim of this Contract will be to gain steady improvement in the extent and quality of conservation assets across Hume City. The Contract will also assist Council with meeting State and Federal obligations, when considering matters related to biodiversity conservation.
Contractors will assist Council by undertaking on-ground works such as:
- Weed control
- Revegetation and restoration
- General site maintenance
- Minor tree pruning/removal
- Prescribed burning
- Fire prevention slashing
- Pest animal management (rabbits & foxes)
- Fencing (rabbit proof and/or general fencing)
- Minor erosion control
Engagement as a C&LMS contractor will not guarantee a quantifiable level of work. The amount of work available will be dependent upon works required, available budget and suitability of the contractor to fulfil the requirements of each job.
