NPWS require a qualified and suitably experienced contractor to undertake upgrade works to the Kosciuszko Summit Walk, which runs from Rawson Pass to the summit of Australia’s highest point – Mount Kosciuszko. Over 200,000 people hike to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko each year, making it the highest use of any track in Kosciuszko National Park (KNP).
The project is part of the NSW Government’s Improving Access in National Parks (IANP) program, which aims to upgrade and renew poor performing visitor infrastructure within NSW national parks. The Kosciuszko Summit Walk Upgrade Project will complement the numerous other new and existing walking track upgrade projects currently underway in KNP.
The objective of the procurement is to remove the embedded and degraded ‘geo-web’ and upgrade the existing gravel surface to a smooth, low maintenance, locally sourced natural stone paving surface.
