IP Australia is in the middle of a major transformation of its Patents processing systems, known as the Patents Modernisation Initiative. The Patents Modernisation Initiative is at the forefront of digital transformation following true agile and DevOps approaches to deliver outcomes for the business.
As new major capabilities are released iteratively, they are transitioned to our production support team who maintain and continuously improve features based on user feedback.
At IP Australia, you will play an important role supporting, maintaining and enhancing the new Patents processing system as it is transitioned to production over many years.
This role will work within a multi-discipline production support team, following agile principles to maintain and enhance IT systems. Working closely with other developers, business analysts and other technical specialists the role will ensure the ongoing availability and performance of production systems, as well as design, develop and deploy continuous improvements.
Under the direction of the Director and Delivery Manager, this role will:
• Lead the support of production systems and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain and enhance a modern user interface using Vue.js
• Maintain and enhance API services for a modern web application stack that integrates technologies including Vue.js, Pega, Intelledox, Dynatrace and Oracle database, using MuleSoft’s Anypoint Studio.
• Plan, document, and manage technical tasks assigned to the team.
• Work with business analysts and subject matter experts to translate requirements into technical designs for implementation and deployment.
• Collaborate and mentor team members to promote team harmony and support cross-skilling professional development.
• Support and promote agile delivery practices within the team
• Undertake additional duties as required;
Applicants must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic and able to work effectively in a multi-discipline team.
Applicants are also expected to be proactive and motivated to build their site knowledge of the complex business and technical areas at IP Australia that are relevant to their role.
This role may be performed remotely. The candidate may be requested to attend onsite up to 4 times per year at the request of the Director to support planning or other activities as required.
