⁠⁠⁠VET Data Streamlining – 2x Software Developers
DESE is leading the development of a new vocational education and training (VET) data collection and reporting system. The VET Data Streamlining (VDS) program will transform the national VET data system to increase the timeliness and quality of data collection and use. DESE is working with partner state and territory governments and the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) to deliver this initiative through several strands of work over the next few years.

We are looking for two Software Developers to assist with the technology aspects of the VDS build.

The Key deliverables of the roles include:

 Strong experience, including a proven track record delivery of using the following technologies:
o .NET Framework including .NET Core
o ASP.NET including MVC, C#, PowerShell, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS,
o Entity Framework including EF Core
o Web API including REST web services and developing applications using either Angular 7+ or React.
o ETL, SQL and No-SQL databases (e.g. COSMOS) and querying databases using tools such as Microsoft SQL and Server Management Studio and Power BI

 Demonstrated experience in solution design and implementation in Azure Cloud environments, and cloud technologies such as:
o Azure logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Azure message queue service

 Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Active Directory including Microsoft Azure, Windows Server and Visual Studio including working with modern code analysis tools

 Ability to integrate applications with third-party systems

 Apply understanding of Azure DevOps principles and practices and ability to build, maintain, support and extend the continuous integration and deployment pipeline in DevOps.

 Experience in API layer like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, monetization, request and response modification

 Experience with security frameworks (e.g. JWT, OATH2) and in creating REST API documentation using Swagger and Postman, or similar tools, is desirable.
