Tender ID: 481620
Tender Details
Tender Description
Help us improve Victoria’s emergency response with a routing solution for Victoria’s emergency services
We would like to make you aware of an exciting opportunity to help in the research and development of a routable Vicmap Transport dataset, the aim of which to help deliver innovative routing solutions for emergency services and bushfire emergency response. We will be seeking innovative responses to a Request for Tender (RFT) landing at the start of 2022, from individual suppliers and/or consortiums under a head supplier, for a Proof of Concept (PoC) Project Request. The PoC will involve the development and validation of the technology and data required to uplift the Vicmap Transport dataset to become network routable and test a proof-of-concept navigation solution using the improved dataset. The project will be a partnership with DELWP and Victorian emergency services stakeholders and a unique opportunity to help solve challenging operational use cases and contribute towards better emergency outcomes for Victorians.
Background:
The Digital Twin Victoria (DTV) Program will fast track the adoption of new geospatial data and emerging technology that will help position Victoria as Australia’s skills, innovation, and digital capital. The Routable Vicmap Proof of Concept is part of ‘Enhanced Disaster Response’ one of seven programs of work under the DTV banner. DTV has delivered an open-source pilot platform which will enable both government and non-government agencies to not only support the visualisation of multidimensional spatial data but act as foundational infrastructure for the development and integration of features and functions used to inform policy development and other decisions.
A Discovery process run with stakeholders across the Emergency Services sector including DELWP Forest Fire and Regions and other State and federal government organisations has recently concluded that there are use-cases and support for the development of routing solutions based upon the authoritative Vicmap data. This PoC project will seek to apply the findings and investigate how this might be achieved.
