MPHN has been funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health to improve outcomes for people living with a severe mental illness through the provision of psychosocial supports in the community.
Psychosocial supports are a non-clinical interventions that can assist people with severe mental illness to participate in their community, manage daily tasks, undertake work or study, find housing, get involved in activities, and make connections with family and friends.
People living with a mental illness experience significant disparities in physical health and reduced life expectancy. Psychosocial supports focused on maintaining and improving physical wellbeing are an important component to ensuring people living with a severe mental illness experience improved health outcomes and quality of life.
Opportunity on Offer:
MPHN is seeking to engage a suitably experienced provider to develop an integrated multi-strategy approach to improving physical health care outcomes for people with a severe mental illness accessing primary care, mental health and psychosocial support services across the Murrumbidgee region.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience and understanding of mental health and associated physical health issues. Applications will need to demonstrate experience in program monitoring and outcomes evaluation.
