Indigo Shire Council is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to construct walking track and pedestrian boardwalks on the southern side of Lake Sambell, Beechworth.
The Lake Sambell walking track circumnavigates the Lake. The track on the southern side of the lake from the dam wall to the caravan park is a grade 3 walking track with a number of steep slopes and steps. The construction work in this brief includes the upgrading of certain sections of walking track on ground, the removal and replacement of steps, and the construction of a number of sections of FRP boardwalk.
Access to the site is difficult. Provison must be made to carry all materials and equipment in by hand or alternatively with appropriate safety plans in place materials may be delivered to site by boat as the walking track skirts the edge of the Lake.
It is strongly advised to visit the site before tendering. An optional site meeting will be held at 10am on Tuesday the 14th December - meeting at the jarvis Rd entry to the walking track.
