Principal Specialist Capability and Strategy

⁠⁠⁠The Principal Specialist Capability and Strategy will be responsible for:

• Understanding the strategic environment of AUSTRAC at the intersections of technology, risk, legal, finance and regulatory areas
• Building relationships across internal and external stakeholder groups to understand and advocate for user needs and stakeholder requirements
• Proactively identify gaps or areas for improvement working with senior leadership and the various specialists in the Enterprise Analytics teams to define and deliver solutions.
• Working closely with users, stakeholders, and technical specialists to understand the relevant business and technical trade-offs
• Development of strategy, plan, objectives and timelines
• Provide problem-solving support
• Working closely with the project teams (Product Manager, Delivery Manager, Solution Architect, Researchers, Engineering and Data Science teams) and senior leadership to collectively ensure successful product and program delivery
• Writing briefs and other communication materials for senior executives
• Managing the budgets for Enterprise Analytics and associated projects
• Assisting delivery leadership with work planning and estimations
• Fostering a positive, respectful, and delivery focused culture for the team

They will have:

• Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and customer engagement skills, supporting coordination with a broad range of stakeholders
• Excellent analytic and critical thinking skills, enabling them to identify risks, and conceptualise and design solutions
• Extensive experience working on complex projects crossing multiple functions such as technology, risk, legal, finance and regulatory areas
• The ability to work under pressure, demonstrate resilience, and deal with complexity, uncertainty, and conflicting requirements.
