Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Background to Tasking – Data Analysts

The scope of the Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) is driving complex transformation activities across the Australian Defence Organisation (ADO), both Services and Groups. Vice Chief of Defence Force (VCDF) is required to support ERP design and ADO adoption by exercising assigned responsibilities within the following areas:

a. Joint Force Authority (JFA) War-Fighter Equities;
b. Value Chain Ownership;
c. Data Domain Head for allocated value chain data objects; and
d. Coordinating Groups and Services to achieve broader ADO outcomes.

The Military Planning and Operations (MP&O) Data Domain describes the Defence structure including operational roles, organisational structure - Force Elements (FE), and the principal tasks to be undertaken by an FE. Some of the high level responsibilities and accountabilities will include:

a. Design the business rules for data objects and their relationship to other data objects within SAP;
b. Govern the design of the data migration from legacy applications;
c. Prepare for data migration from legacy applications;
d. Drive enterprise wide transformation activities;
e. Plan business readiness activities;
f. Manage additional value chains assigned to VCDF.

Deliverables:

The core of JFA Support Group One initial Tasking will be to focus on VCDF’s requirements and deliverables for ERP Tranche 1 Release 1B. However, the contractor must maintain awareness of future tranche data needs and provide advice on establishing and maintaining a whole of Defence perspective in order to help the ERP solution optimise whole of Defence outcomes. The intent is to ensure the responsibilities allocated to the MP&O Data Domain Head (DDH) as detailed in the ‘Background’ comments above are efficiently and effectively carried out.

The successful candidate will be a part of multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for the following deliverables and activities (but not limited to):

- working with stakeholders, including the ERP Program, to identify opportunities for enhanced coordination to achieve more efficient SME related data objects and value chain activities outcomes, and, where directed, working with stakeholders to implement solutions to achieve those enhancements.
- Provide SME related advice and assist in coordination of ERP Program management as it relates to the MP&O value chain
- Contribute to cross Group & Service and ERP Program stakeholder SME related data object and value chain management coordination, including advice on coordination of cross stream dependencies

The successful candidate is expected to exhibit:

• Provide mentorship and guidance to other team members, APS/third parties as required
