This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
The eSafety Commissioner is currently undergoing a period of rapid growth to implement a series of priority initiatives related to new funding streams and the recent passage of the Online Safety Act.
As the Safety Technology Expert Advisor you will play an integral part in helping document, scope and analyse and lead on new business initiatives related to the exciting area of online safety technologies.
This role is required to help build and secure eSafety’s technical expertise in online safety technologies, tools and solutions. Situated within eSafety’s International, Strategies and Futures Branch, the role will focus on cultivating a strong evidence base and understanding of safety technology solutions and emerging technologies, assessing their capabilities and areas for opportunity, writing clear documentation, briefings and web copy to help inform senior executives, government and the public about relevant safety tech solutions that help facilitate safer online experiences and protect users from harmful content, contact or conduct.
These include
• end-point solutions such as filtering/blocking;
• platform solutions including moderation, detection and user controls,
• monitoring and age-verification or account validation solutions;
• system level solutions that detect and remove harmful content; and
• information solutions that identify and flag potential harms and misuse
This role will need to provide eSafety and the International, Strategies and Futures Branch with expertise in online safety technologies.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in acting as a technology SME, providing expert guidance and advise to senior executives to help inform policy initiatives. The candidate will be expert in the ecosystem of cyber safety, security and privacy and the application of modern technologies to help prevent online harms.
A strong understanding of the Online Safety Act and Safety by Design will be mandatory.
