Tender ID: 473187
Tender Details
Tender Description
We invite local acts to submit an EOI to be part of the Melbourne Night Safety Summit on 22 November. The summit is a key part of Project Night Justice, a partnership project with Victoria Police, Crime Stoppers Victoria, Rape and Domestic Violence Services Australia and the University of Melbourne.
Project Night Justice aims to improve personal safety for women and gender diverse people at night by raising community awareness and responsibility for the prevention of sexual violence and introducing training, policy and improved reporting systems within and around late night venues, major events and transport hubs.
The Night Safety Summit aims to bring together representatives from the capital’s night-time economy, public transport network, security, women’s health, youth and LGBTIQ+ agencies, advocacy groups and police to develop new ways of working to ensure that women and gender diverse people feel safe in our city at night. We also intend to launch the Night Safety Charter and encourage organisations who operate at night to become signatories to the charter.
Project Night Justice and the Night Safety Summit has been made possible by funding received from the Victorian Government’s Building Safer Communities Program.
The Night Safety Summit will be held online on Monday 22 November.
