About Market Development Facility (MDF)
Market Development Facility is an Australian Government funded multi-country initiative which promotes sustainable economic development, through higher incomes for women and men, in our partner countries.
We connect individuals, businesses, governments and NGOs with each other, and with markets at home and abroad. This enhances investment and coordination and allows partnerships to flourish, strengthening inclusive economic growth.
MDF is funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT). It is implemented by Palladium in partnership with Swisscontact. This role is remote/home based.
The Role
MDF is looking to engage a SharePoint App Developer to provide support to the Quality and Inclusion Team in managing and maintaining its Management Information System (MIS). The MIS system serves as an aggregator of different data MDF collects and reports on. It is already developed on MDF SharePoint site and accessible to authorised MDF personnel. It is a comprehensive, interconnected system providing users an access to view predefined reports (visualised in PowerBi), administer different trackers and refresh a range of databases.
Key Responsibilities:
Database and SharePoint App development
Lead the development of additional application/dashboards, databases, predefined reports and trackers and visualising them using the PowerBI. Different reports will offer users a selection of different features, such as viewing data per country, sector, start or end date, or any other filter deemed necessary. Lead on development of SharePoint integrated applications, such as staff leave and travel requests (using Microsoft PowerApps) transforming manual business processes to digital, automated processes.
Sharing MIS reports with MDF users where applicable.
Database management
Maintain support and execution of ongoing adjustments and upgrade of existing databases, reports and trackers. This can include editing the existing reports by changing the back-end calculations or adding new indicators in the reports as and when required by MDF team.
Ensure the current online aggregation and finance application/dashboards (developed in an integrated SQL database) operate seamlessly and any errors and warnings are addressed within a reasonable timeframe.
Ensure that all relevant SharePoint trackers are fully operational and any queries raised are resolved within a reasonable timeframe.
Troubleshoot and debug the SQL database to solve any front-end issues on Power BI.
Essential Criteria
- Strong software development skills with Microsoft technology stack (C#, .NET, SQL, Office365).
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle Management and developing SharePoint apps (On-prem and Online).
- Extensive experience with cloud-based solutions (preferably Azure PaaS) and data visualisation tools (PowerBI).
- Experience building provider-hosted SharePoint Add-ins.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English, including the ability to produce concise analytical reports.
- Ability to dedicate at least one full working day (8 hours) weekly for MDF MIS management and be available to have weekly update calls with the MDF MIS team.
- Ability to visualize data points in clear manner and understand the client requirements.
