Competitive NGO Grants Program – Request for Proposals
The Education Sector Support Program 2020-23 (ESSP) is a partnership between the governments of Solomon Islands, New Zealand and Australia to improve access to quality basic education for all children in Solomon Islands.
ESSP provides funding support to the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development to deliver key priorities in line with the National Education Action Plan, as well as offering targeted advisory support.
In recognition of the important role communities, NGOs and civil society organisations play in supporting education outcomes, the ESSP, through its NGO Grants Program, is offering grants of between SBD$300,000 – SBD$3.0m (AUD$50,000 – AUD$500,000) to eligible organisations to implement projects from January 2022 and that must be completed by 30 June 2023.
Eligible, locally registered NGOs, including faith based, disabled peoples and community-based organisations and networks across the provinces are invited to submit a proposal that aims to improve learning outcomes for disadvantaged children in basic education, with attention on learning continuity, child protection and disability inclusion initiatives.
An information session will be conducted in Honiara (and via Zoom) on Wednesday 15 September 2.00-4.00pm. To register for this session or submit any questions, email grants@asirf.com.sb, or call 28865 ext. 240 by Tuesday 14 September, 1.00pm.
