The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is seeking to appoint a Principal Consultant to carry out and support Schematic Design, Design Development, Contract Documentation, Contract Administration, Defects Liability Period and Post Occupancy Evaluation for the Early and Main Works components of the Warrnambool Base Hospital Redevelopment. This will deliver a new multi-storey clinical tower that will incorporate:
- A new and bigger emergency department
- A new suite of operating theatres with enhanced capacity
- More acute and sub-acute inpatient beds
- Bigger, dedicated paediatric unit
- Larger, brand new clinical accommodation for medical imaging, pathology services, dialysis, central sterile services, and
- A bigger and better carpark for patients, visitors and staff.
The Principal Consultant will be required to provide an experienced and capable multidisciplinary team. This team will include, the following disciplines.
- Architectural;
- Interior Design;
- Urban Design;
- Landscape design;
- Clinical Health Planner;
- Structural Engineers;
- Civil Engineers;
- Risk Management Consultant (including allowance for risk workshop);
- Fire Risk Assessment (safety audit): Bushfire Attack Level Analysis if required (cannot be undertaken by the relevant building surveyor);
- Fire Safety Engineer;
- Acoustic Consultant;
- Traffic Engineer;
- Sustainability Services (Passive Architectural design and renewable energy systems opportunities and Part J1, J2 & J3 compliance);
- Environmental Sustainability Consultant (to be engaged as a specialist sub-consultant unless the Architect has a specialist in-house team that is separate from the main project team and able to meet the requirements of the Brief);
- Universal / Disability Access Consultant (double check consultant title, universal or disability?) (to be engaged as a specialist sub-consultant unless the Architect has specialist in-house capability);
- Logistics;
- Town Planning;
- Signage and Wayfinding;
- Façade Engineer;
- FFE Consultant;
- Roof Access Consultant including detailed design and specification of roof safety system and roof safety certificate;
- Safety and security in Design;
- Value Management;
- Provision of 3D images for all phases;
- Provision of 3D virtual walk-through of completed design;
- Provision of photorealistic render;
- Development of reports to support public communication strategy as required;
- Design workshops and presentation to the Department and Agency as required;
- Professional photography;
- BIM Management;
- Waste Management Consultant;
- Geotechnical Investigation Consultant (if required);
- Land Surveying Consultant (if required);
- Heritage Management Consultant (if required);
- Other design-related services required or requested in relation to the project.
