About the grants
The focus for this years Local Heritage Places Grants is conservation works that enhance places, buildings and historic streetscapes that promote community and visitor appreciation of the Shire. This includes conservation areas.
In the past, many grant programs were for individual buildings only.
Between $1,000 to $3,000 in grants is available, depending on how many applications are received. Successful applicants will need to contribute one dollar for every dollar provided by the grant.
The restoration work must be completed by 30 March 2022.
It is hoped the program will increase interest and concern for heritage conservation in the Byron Shire.
