Scope of Works:
Undertake Duck Pond Dig Out per SOW provided by the Company Representative. The contractor is required to undertake the following works:
1.Remove vegetation (reeds), excavate and dredge duck pond to natural ground level or 2.5 m below the current sediment surface whichever is the greatest to safe batters of minimum 1V:2H. Steeper side slopes can be considered if it can be demonstrated the stability of the batters can be achieved without side walls collapsing. The Company representative should be notified and will have agreed prior to the excavation of steeper slopes. It is estimated based on the area and depth approximately 6,500 m3 of sediment or material is required to be excavated from the duck pond.
2. Conduct material (vegetation and sediment) management/stockpiles as per SoW provided
3.Grade, sump excavation and prepare HDPE(overlapped) lined pad with drainage around for Geo bags which will release excess fluids including supply of pumps from sump to oily water separator pond
4. Repair and widen spillway and provide riprap on the crest to allow even flow - The existing spillway excavation will be backfilled where required and shaped like a trapezoid and widened to 3 m to allow even flow through the spillway.
5. Survey the dig out and the duck pond area
6. Reinstate windrows to a minimum 500 mm , 300 mm wide flat top, and 1:1 side slopes.
7. Place filter material in duck pond supply trench to capture sediment
8. Install flowmeter and v-notch in trench
