Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Be part of the Solomon Islands Infrastructure Program (SIIP), an Australian partnership with the Solomon Islands Government, which aims to improve the quality, accessibility, sustainability and inclusivity of economic infrastructure in Solomon Islands. Cardno will implement the Program on behalf of the Australian Government.

The role
Cardno is seeking a highly motivated and experienced CCDR and Safeguards Coordinator to join the SIIP team.

Specifically, the Coordinator will:

- Assist the GEDSI CCDR and Safeguards Lead and CCDR short term adviser to develop and operationalise a CCDR Strategy.
- Assist the GEDSI CCDR and Safeguards Lead and the Safeguards short term adviser to develop and operationalise an Environment and Social Management and Safeguards Framework.
- Support the CCDR and Safeguards short term adviser to develop briefings, documentation and materials as needed to strengthen CCDR and safeguards capabilities across the program, subcontractors and delivery partners.
- Monitor compliance with policies as directed by the GEDSI CCDR and Safeguards Lead.
- Assist with preparations for community consultations for proposed works.
- Coordinate the review of project documents to ensure they reflect and comply with the Program’s approach to CCDR and Safeguards.
- Assist the GEDSI CCDR and Safeguards Lead to promote awareness and build capacity for the observance of safeguards as part of good infrastructure planning and delivery.
- Support the establishment of, and maintain effective working relationships with organisations responsible for environmental and social safeguards.
- Support recruitment of advisers for specialist safeguards inputs, including developing terms of reference for specific design, research, analysis or evaluation work.
- Assist the Capacity Development team in the delivery of CCDR and safeguards capacity development activities.
