The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is intending to release a request for tender (RFT) in mid-July 2021 to appoint the Principal Design Consultant to carry out the functional briefing, schematic design, and supply of the Principal’s Project Requirements document (PPR) for the Enabling Works component of the Warrnambool
Base Hospital Redevelopment (incl Logistics Hub).
The Enabling Works component involves the design and construction of a new off-site Regional Logistics Distribution Centre (RLDC) that will support an automated commercial laundry/linen service and automated warehouse. The RLDC will be operated by South West Healthcare, and will free up the Warrnambool Base Hospital site for the broader redevelopment and construction of a new multistorey clinical tower.
The Principal Consultant will be required to provide an experienced and capable multidisciplinary team. This team will include, the following disciplines.
o Architectural Design;
o Interior Design;
o Landscape Design;
o Structural Engineering;
o Civil Engineering;
o Risk Management Consultant;
o Fire Safety Engineer;
o Acoustic Consultant;
o Traffic Engineering;
o Building Surveying Consulting Services;
o Sustainability Services;
o Environmental Sustainability Consultant;
o Universal Access Consultant;
o BIM Management;
o Waste Management Consultant;
o Safety and Security in Design;
o Geotechnical Investigation Consultant (if required);
o Land Surveying Consultant (if required);
o Heritage Management Consultant (if required);
o Automated commercial laundry and linen service design including specialist equipment (handling and sorting, washing, water extraction, drying and logistics);
o Automated warehouse and logistics design including automated storage and retrieval system; and
o Other design-related services required or requested in relation to the project.
