Tender Description
Hume City Council (“Council”) invites Expressions of Interest (“EOI”) from suitably qualified and experienced architectural practices to undertake the design, documentation, contract administration and project management of the two level expansion of the Hume Global Learning Centre, Broadmeadows at 1093 Pascoe Vale Road, Broadmeadows.
The Hume Global Learning Centre Broadmeadows (HGLCB) was constructed in 2003 as a hub from which library and learning services are provided. The ground floor consists of community meeting rooms with capacity for civic functions, computer training area, public internet area, café, exhibition space and Council Chamber. A regional library and local history room occupies Level 1.
As a part of the initial brief for the design of the HGLCB in 2001, design allowances were included for two additional levels and constructed with the provision of expanding the building when required. Of more recent time, Council has a tenancy agreement with a State Government service provider to occupy approximately 1,021 square meters of the existing ground floor (as of July 2021). In addition, the same tenant has pre committed to approximately 780 square metres of commercial tenancy space within the expansion of the building.
