Tender Description
The Mallee Catchment Management Authority is seeking suitable supplier(s) with recognised proven skills in the delivery of water for the environment. The project requires delivery of water for the environment from the nearby Lindsay River to Lake Wallawalla to promote environmental, social and indigenous outcomes. Lake Wallawalla is a significant floodplain wetland located adjacent to Lindsay Island in the north-west of Victoria.
Rivers, wetlands and their associated anabranches and floodplains are a defining feature of the Mallee region. The health of these waterways and floodplains are fundamental to the region’s environmental, social and economic future. Without natural flooding, the condition of these environments will decline. Provision of water for the environment, such as through this project, helps maintain the condition of sites during periods without natural flow.
At the time of releasing this tender water and funding have not been allocated for this environmental water program. Tenderers shall make themselves aware that upon submission of offer and subsequent notice of preferred tenderer, contracts will not be executed, until such time as water allocation and funding approval is confirmed.
