The site currently has an existing building structure which will be demolished under a separate contract prior to and in preparation for the construction of the new temporary fire station.

The proposed temporary Fire Station has a total approx. gross floor area of 1080 sqm and will consist of the following:

• Timber framed building on a raised sub- floor structure to accommodate:
• Front entry canopy and timber structure disabled access ramp/stair;
• Offices & General Admin. areas;
• Kitchen / Dining & Lounge;
• Turnout Room (i.e. change room area(s) with lockers; and
• Toilet amenities.
• Steel framed customised garage / shed with roller shutters to accommodate:
• Motor room to house 4 No. fire fighting appliances;
• Maintenance & Compressor room;
• Workshop/Laundry; and
• Toilet amenities.
• Construction of a light-weight corridor link infill to suit existing portable units.

Note: Purpose built transportable buildings have been completed and temporarily stored onsite in preparation of the main building works. Transportable building (dorms) are to be repositioned and installed on site by separate CFA appointed contractor.

• External site works and other works consisting of:
• Single Truck bay;
• Hire of portable buildings to accommodate Change room turnout, Stand down room and toilet amenities;
• Proprietary type sheds to accommodate cleaners and back-up generator;
• New concrete paved hardstand areas;
• Gravel surfaced carparking areas;
• Automated secure rear entry gate(s) & boundary fencing as required;
• Proposed new concrete crossovers and visitor parking to the front of the site; and
• Landscaping.

Construction works is targeted to commence approximately May 2021 and to be completed approximately in August 2021.

The works must comply with Occupational Health, Safety and Environment and Industrial Relations Management which are mandatory requirements. Applicable Government policies affecting the procurement include:

• Directions and instructions for Public Construction Procurement;
• Social Procurement Policy, and
• Local jobs First Policy and Supplier Code of Conduct.
