Tender Description
Tenders are invited from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to deliver footpath renewal works at various locations within Castlemaine.
In 2017 Infrastructure Management Group (IMG) completed a condition survey of all footpath and trail assets across the shire and graded them by condition. Incorporated into our existing asset management system, the data has been used to prioritise path segments for replacement in conjunction with the recommendation from our Works Unit and extensive site investigation by Council officers.
Being a reconstruction project external design was deemed not necessary. Sketches and mark-ups developed in-house by Council’s officers will be available.
In keeping with Mount Alexander Shire Council material and style guides the path will be finished in standard black asphalt.
Kerb, kerb ramps, pedestrian crossings and driveways will be in standard concrete and constructed as per the current IDM standard drawings or as detailed on the plans. Exposed aggregate finish shall be provided to the concrete where instructed.
Existing street furniture like bicycle holding rack/loop, rubbish bins, street chairs and signage to be reinstated after completion of the works unless stated otherwise.
Contractors will not be allowed for any construction works in Castlemaine CBD during the Castlemaine State Festival (18 March 2021 to 4 April 2021).
