Tender Description
Alpine Shire Council’s bridge network is a total of 59 Road Bridges within the Alpine Shire. In addition, there are 37 large road Culverts that are classified as bridges for the purposes of valuation only. In addition, Council currently maintains a network of 97 pedestrian bridges.
Risks associated with the degradation from use of the bridge are managed by Council’s Asset Maintenance department through periodic inspections (proactive) or through response to customer service requests under the requirements and response times outlined in Council’s Road Management Plan. Remedial works are programmed according to the type and severity of the bridge defect. In addition, a comprehensive inspection and assessment of the condition of the bridge network undertaken on a three-yearly basis
