Tender Description
This Early Parenting Centres expansion forms part of the government’s “More help for new mums and dads” $232.2 million election commitment and comprising $123 million total estimated investment (TEI) in asset funding and $23.7 million over four years in output funding (and $29.7 million ongoing) to build seven new Early Parenting Centres (EPCs) and refurbish two existing centres (not part of this commission).
The Early Parenting Centres expansion will support an additional 7,837 families state-wide with clinical, specialist and intensive early parenting services to address complex parenting concerns. The seven new EPCs in Ballarat, Bendigo, Casey, Geelong, Frankston, Whittlesea and Wyndham will provide ten residential beds at each centre, which when fully operational will provide 5,457 more families (643 per centre) with access to a mix of residential, in-home and/or day-stay support services each year.
The new EPCs will be delivered in 2 tranches, with Tranche 1 (comprising Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong) delivered by mid-2022 and Tranche 2 (comprising Casey, Frankston, Whittlesea and Wyndham) by early-2024.
