The Agency is seeking responses to this Invitation for Expression of Interest (EOI) from SOC service providers to provide a sector-wide SOC service to the Victorian Water Sector.
The Victorian Government Cyber Security Strategy 2016-2020 (Strategy) articulates the benefit of procuring Security Operation Centre (SOC) capabilities, on a Whole-of-Victorian-Government (WOVG) basis, to achieve the vision of ‘secure and resilient government information, services, and infrastructure’.
The Agency’s Federated Security Operations Centre Implementation Program (FSIP) aims to achieve the objectives as stated within Action 19 of the Strategy – “Develop an integrated and federated Security Operations Centre model and implementation plan”.
Phase 1 of the FSIP seeks to create a ‘commercially available agreement with a suitable SOC service provider’ meeting the technical and non-technical requirements of the Victorian Water Sector.
It is expected that the Water Sector SOC will support the overarching goals of:
- More rapidly and efficiently identifying, responding to, and containing, cybersecurity incidents affecting the sector (and its constituent water authorities); and
- Improved mitigation of the impacts caused by such incidents.
