The Senior Project Manager, reporting to the Project Director - ICT Strategic Projects Branch, is responsible for planning and managing delivery of Strategic ICT Projects. The role will work from the NDIA's office on Collins Street in Melbourne.
The role will initially be responsible for the Alternative Cloud Environment will be delivered through a business partner.
The Senior Project Manager will undertake the following:
1. Define project scope, requirements and acceptance criteria.
2. Develop and maintain project documentation throughout the project lifecycle including project schedule, project management plan, external costing requests, communications plan, test plan, and change plans as appropriate.
3. Manage project related procurement activities, including drafting of required artefacts and running of vendor submissions, in accordance with the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework and agency policies with minimal oversight by the OCIO Business Manager.
4. Identify, assess and manage project dependencies, risks and issues and escalation appropriately as circumstances dictate.
5. Develop and maintain realistic project schedule and resourcing plans for the whole project lifecycle.
6. Provide regular and accurate reports to stakeholders including the ICT Committee and CIO as required by circumstances and the project communications plan.
7. Manage the completion of projects, delivering to agreed requirements, cost, timescales and quality.
8. Establish a collaborative working culture and environment within the project team, with external delivery teams and stakeholders.
9. Establish effective working relationships with project sponsors, relevant business teams, and third-parties including DHS and their
delivery teams to ensure smooth implementation and effective engagement in project delivery.
10. Plan and manage periodic project and stakeholder review meetings (as per agreed communications and governance models) to ensure up to date communication of project status.
11. Provide effective leadership to the project team and take appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
12. Work with the Branch’s Delivery Lead on improvement activities to actively uplift the agency’s Project Management capability
