The City of Melbourne have proposed alterations to the existing natural and built profile of Enterprize Park as part of a strategy for the rejuvenation of the park.
A key component of the works will entail alterations to the concrete shrouds and their associated interfaces. These were previously built to conceal the existing foundation pile caps to the viaduct, and sit well above the top of the pile cap.
The Works comprise:
- Preparation of Construction Method Statement for demolition works for approval by relevant authorities, and issue of permits. Note, work cannot proceed without relevant permits
- Measurement of vibration on daily basis during demolition works
- Protection of viaduct piers during demolition works
- Demolition and removal of concrete plinths around the piers, without damage to pile cap footings for piers 18, 19 & 20
- Demolition and removal of plinth around pier 21, including modification of pile cap footing as per detail
- Modification of storm water downpipes
- Services encountered during demolition to be made safe and terminated outside pier footing
- Protection of existing stairs adjacent to pier 21 (east side) during demolition of plinth.
