The Northern Grampians Shire is located in Central West Victoria, and covers an area of 5,918 square kilometres. It borders the Grampians National Park, Wimmera Plains (west), Mallee Plains (north) and the Pyrenees Region (east). The major town of Stawell is located on the Western Highway between Adelaide (500km) and Melbourne (230km).
Northern Grampians Shire Council is seeking submissions from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to prepare a Structure Plan for Stawell Township and an Urban Design Framework for the Western Highway Precinct of Stawell.
The Structure Plan project will aim to guide the future development pathways and accommodate future growth for the entire township for the next 20-30 years within a sustainable framework to achieve the long term strategic vision of the Council. Whereas, the Urban Design Framework will be used to develop a gateway for Stawell in order to identify opportunities for attracting additional visitors to drive economic development in Stawell.
