ICT Vendor and Contract Manager

⁠⁠⁠The team lead by the OCIO Business Manager (who is a member of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) division leadership team and reports directly to the Chief Information Officer) manages the OCIO budget (approx. $150m), ICT procurement activity and provides vendor management.

Currently the division has significant number of labour hire contractors and in excess of 20 contracts with external vendors for ICT service delivery and support; protective security and external engagement channels. The OCIO has historically engaged its shared services provider for all development, support and procurement of IT hardware and equipment. However, as the OCIO engages directly with the market for a more services a dedicated vendor and contract manager is required.

With limited guidance from the OCIO Business Manager this role will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Engage, and maintain positive relationships with key vendors through regular contact and communication on the delivery of OCIO priorities.
2. Developing an approach, in line with best practice and requirements of the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework, to develop and maintain vendor relationships which are reactive to NDIA’s priorities; allow for strategic engagement and innovation; and look to long term trust based engagement.
3. Researching vendors capabilities and developing relationships with vendors to assist the OCIO in achieving its strategic objectives.
4. Assist senior executives and project managers negotiate contracts with selected vendor consistent with the stated business objectives.
5. Implement and sustain a robust contract management framework to ensure operational, functional and business objectives required by the contract are met in a manner consistent with the NDIA’s strategic plan.
6. Day to day interactions with project managers and OCIO staff on vendor, contract and resource management.
7. Provide support to the Business Manager in developing processes that adhere to the Commonwealth Financial Framework whilst allowing agile service delivery in a complex ever changing environment.
