Provision of an ePublishing Platform

⁠⁠⁠Implement an Enterprise ePublishing platform that will allow the creation, sharing and publication of learning and teaching resources, both to the web and as ebooks for offline access.

Monash currently use an in-house developed solution. This was originally a research project in the and now ongoing support can be a challenge. The current solution supports the following usage: There are 410 Authors ie: Academics, 8,904 modules (approximately 900 Syllabus books), 39,000 users throughout the duration of this project (four years).
In scope is the procurement of a hosted platform and related implementation services that will support ePublishing across Monash, including maintenance, development, and migration of current content.

The new solution needs to be able to:
· Create ebooks that are not tied to an individual Moodle unit, including text, images, video and interactive content
· Allow construction of books from smaller discrete elements of content that can be shared and updated, with sharing between academics within the platform.
· Create rich ebooks that are reusable and able to be re-purposed according to focus and study area
· Publish to the web, and as ePub files.
