Tender Description
The Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) as an agency of the Department of Justice and Community Safety, is currently working to address the growing needs of Women’s Prisons, and to address the projected intake of female prisoners. Government funding has been provided to expand the Women’s Prison, the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, and to provide critical infrastructure to support the increased capacity.
Suitably qualified and experienced Civil Contractors are sought to undertake Early Works prior to Main expansion works. Suppliers must have the capability to work in proximity to a correctional environment and abide by Corrections Victoria protocols.
Suppliers are required to be able to:
- Communicate clearly and effectively;
- Understand the priorities and needs of DJCS;
- Undertake bulk earth works and have equipment;
- Have equipment for bulk compaction of soil;
- Construct roads and Carparks to required Australian Standards;
- Target to complete works by the end of 2019;
CSBA proposes to release an Request for Tender (RFT) by mid-September 2019.
